Is Your Heart Really Open — or Just Surviving?
Your heart chakra is your energetic hub for love, ALIGNMENT, compassion, and real connection.
When it’s flowing: life feels soft. Generous. Magnetic. Love moves naturally, not forced. You feel seen, aligned, present.
When it’s blocked… everything feels heavy. Tension in your chest. Your emotions muted. Your relationships draining instead of nourishing. If you’ve been feeling disconnected, lonely, or “meh” lately, your heart is sending signals. It’s asking for attention — most importantly, intention.
How Your Heart Shows You It’s Struggling . . .
The heart chakra can shut down from heartbreak, grief, stress, giving too much without receiving — or from carrying old wounds you never processed. Little, or big.
Signs your heart space IS BLOCKED:
Physically:
Tightness or heaviness in your chest
Poor circulation
Shoulder or upper back tension
Fluttery or irregular heartbeat
Short, shallow breaths
High blood pressure
Fatigue, sometimes cold hands or feet
Back (upper + lower) pain
Emotionally & Energetically:
Feeling disconnected or alone, even in company
Struggling to trust or open up — fear of intimacy in general
Replaying old hurts, holding grudges
Over-giving, people-pleasing, ignoring your needs
Feeling undeserving of love or attention, lacking inner-worth
A lack of enthusiasm or joy for life
Isolating yourself
Blocked energy keeps love stuck. Life becomes autopilot. You go through the motions—but you’re not really living.
How to Open, Heal, and Rebalance Your Heart
Healing your heart chakra doesn’t have to be complicated or spiritual gymnastics. It’s about intentional practices that create presence, safety, and flow.
1. Reiki Energy Healing
Reiki is hands-on or distance energy work that goes straight to your heart. It doesn’t just relax you. It clears energetic blockages, releases old pain, and restores flow.
Reiki meets your heart where it’s at. It tells your energy: “It’s safe to open. Love can move. Compassion can return.”
You can receive it in person, online, or even self-practice with intention. Over time, Reiki can help you feel lighter, more connected, and more open to giving and receiving love.
2. Shadow Work
Healing isn’t always soft. Real heart healing asks you to look at the parts of yourself you’ve hidden.
Anger. Fear. Resentment. Past trauma. These shadows hold energy in the body. Until you face them, your heart can’t fully open.
Shadow work isn’t self-judgment. It’s acknowledgment, integration, and liberation. It’s saying: “I see you. I accept you. I release the grip you’ve had on me.” Once the shadows are brought into light, love flows again. Freely. Fully. On your terms.
3. Connect with Your Heart Space
Stop, close your eyes, place your hand on your chest, and breathe. Visualize a green or pink light radiating from your heart, expanding with each inhale. Feel it soften the tight spots, melt old tension, and open space for love to move. Even five minutes a day of this practice can shift your energy dramatically. A heart-centered or body check-in meditation would work wonders — even if it’s for a few minutes before your day starts.
4. Somatic Movement
Your body stores what your mind doesn’t process. Stretch. Sway. Roll your shoulders. Open your arms wide. Dance if you feel like it. Movement releases trapped energy, tells your body it’s safe to open, and reconnects you to your heart’s natural rhythm. It’s not about exercise—it’s about liberation. Yoga and dancing are my favorite somatic movements.
5. Affirmations That Stick
Words are powerful. They reprogram energy and signal your heart that it’s safe to open.
Try these, or make your own:
“I allow love to flow to and from me effortlessly.”
“I honor my feelings and release what no longer serves me.”
“I am worthy of care, compassion, and connection.”
“It’s safe for me to open and receive love fully.”
Speak them aloud. Write them. Whisper them when no one’s listening. Let your heart hear it repeatedly.
6. Surround Yourself with Green or Pink
Colors carry vibration. Green supports growth, balance, and harmony. Pink supports self-love, compassion, and softness. Wear it. Surround yourself with it. Hold crystals like rose quartz or green aventurine. Spend time in nature.
Your environment can subtly reinforce your heart’s healing. I can’t help but think of the movie, Wicked.
7. Daily Heart Rituals
Consistency matters. Even small daily practices compound.
Five minutes breathing into your heart in the morning
Writing a gratitude list focused on connection
A few minutes of somatic movement
Repeating affirmations before bed
Setting boundaries with people or situations that drain your heart
These practices tell your energy: “I see you. I care. You are safe. You are loved.”
Your Heart Is Energy. Treat It Like It Matters.
Healing your heart isn’t optional. It’s not a luxury. It’s a reclamation of your energy, your love, your life. When your heart is open, everything changes. You notice beauty. You connect deeply. You stop surviving and start living.
Love isn’t just a feeling. It’s energy. And your energy deserves to move freely — toward yourself, toward others, and toward life itself.
